My freshman year pg. 67-89 :
This chapter really made me think of the time I first moved to the United States. I was new to everything and I thought everybody was mean I remember going home crying begging my parents to move back to PR, but it's true every where you go things are different you will just have to get use to it. I feel like the habbit of saying "hello" to someone and walking away is so true and it's something I do now. I also agreed with the author when she said that when international students or any new student come in nobody really tries to make them feel comfortable or welcome. I did agree with the author when she talk about 'how we made friends." She said that we choose them depending in our similarities, which is completely true.
Ethnography:
It was pretty interesting to read this part of the book because it made me realize everything that an ethnographer has to do, not only collect data and interview people, but they have to be very careful and make sure that it doesn't offend the person that they are observing. It was also pretty interesting because it informs us in how to interview someone and what types of questions should be asked. This part of the book was very helpful especially towards my CLUE project.
